Piper's Room Makeover

So we had a lot of fun changing Piper's room over to a big girl's room. Since we had to move the furniture out to get her new carpet, we only moved back in what we really wanted. We traded some baby items for more grown up ones, and she was very generous and shared a lot of her toys and too small clothes with friends. We sold her toddler bed to a nice newly divorced lady off of craig's list, she needed it for her DOG. And no, I'm not kidding. But she offered a nice bundle of cash, so after a minute's hesitation, I agreed. Piper giggled and giggled at that! I framed the "little miss muffet" original print from Scott Gustafson, we bought 6 years ago, and we love it! I also purchased a bookshelf to fit all of her favorite books...and it was still too small. We love to read!! Her Grandma Higley gifted her a beautiful new bedding set a few years ago, we were so excited to be able to use it!! It is reminiscent of the special blanket she made for me more than a few years ago...a beautiful blonde ballerina with a blue fluffy tutu.
She loves the ballerinas, and is SO big in her special soft bedding. It came with special little ballerina dresses and towels, and she carried them around for a week before she'd let me hang them. She also provided the baskets that organize her socks and hats, and the lovely blankets that we use. Grandpa Fogelquist helped make her dresser "girly" for her, and she's holding the speed boat that Grandpa Tidwell made for her and Monte. And all of our grandparents keep helping us fill up that bookcase and cultivate the love of reading that she has. We're so thrilled at the new, sometimes tidy room, and all the love that has gone into making it just perfect!

Butterfly Palace and Piper Painting

We had a blast going to the Butterfly Palace again, seeing the new butterflies and huge pointsetta tree and listening to the live music. Butterflies are very special to us...and Piper has been practicing kissing frogs.
Piper's painting cute wood and ceramic Christmas stuff for next year...

Monte's Birthday Surprise

Some dear friends gave Monte build-a-bear certificate for his birthday in October, and we put together this cute little tiger, named scout! He has two sound buttons in his hands, one that plays "the best of both worlds, Hannah Montana", and the other is a 6 minute Jonas brothers one. We put them in his hands so Monte could push them with his teeth, and all the friends kissed a heart and put inside him. He has like 8 hearts now. So special. Love the wheelchair too!

Home Decorating Projects

I had a friend update all my wall hangings with me, and I love my new house! It's been so fun, it's making me want to declutter and clean so much more!

Christmas Decorating

I had such a fun time decorating for Christmas this year, I didn't want to take it down! So I figured I'd share it with you...
The big huge tree is one from Silver Dollar City, a popular theme park out here. They deck the entire park out with billions of christmas lights, it's amazing. Monte really loves it.

Christmas Fun!!

The sleeping angels in their beds, once I convinced Piper that yes, Santa did come to our house to see them last week, but this time she has to be asleep before he can come...yes, that was difficult! She had a blast opening her new princess dresses, the Disney ones from "santa," the other from my mom. We love it!
Everytime we opened a book, we had to stop and read it. My little princess just loves books, and our grandmas, great and singular all encouraged that! So fun!
Merry Christmas to all, hope you had as much fun with your presents as we did with ours!
